Last night, was watching a movie NOT on TV but on HBO……without much attention….. just for the sake of time pass….something running back of my mind……like why dint I started studying for CFA bit earlier… what would happen if I fail… how would I start preparation for level -II if I pass the exam….. blah..blah..blah... But suddenly one delivery from the idiot box grabbed my undivided attention…. “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present…..". if this is the case then how can we ignore someone’s gift… why the hell we usually think about what we lost and what we don’t have... ignoring the gift what we have now……. we waste our 70 % time crying on spilled milk, 28% time on how to achieve some kinda great things, which is beyond the reach of any tom, dick and harry… and barely 2% of time on what goods things we have now…. I remember, in the grilling room of my CDAC interview, the panel asked me what is ur strength… I fumbled….coz was almost blank….i dint know what I am good at…. Ridiculous… isn’t it… but then they asked what is my weakness?……spontaneously it came out I need to improve my data structure skill in C…. I am having tough time on that…it clearly shows how much time we think about what we don’t have rather than what we have…… At that time I thought probably it is the effect of my excessive accounting knowledge …..application of the conservatism concept on life…”recognize revenue only when they are reasonable certain but take losses as and when they incurred”…. Then I realized….. May be it is with everyone……. probably it is innate human nature… we give more value to the things what we don’t have even though they are trifle…..we usually ignore thing which comes to us easily….irrespective of how valuable it is……
